The Brazilian Society of Cardiology (SBC) accredits internships through the Judging Committee for the Specialist Title in Cardiology (CJTEC). To accredit your internship, there are some basic assumptions:

a) That there is a formal request from your institution for CJTEC to visit and evaluate the conditions for establishing a quality education in Cardiology. To do so, it is necessary to fill out the appropriate forms, which can be requested by email: credenciamentosbc@cardiol.br. b) That the coordinator is a member of SBC and holds the Specialist Title in Cardiology (TEC) from the Brazilian Medical Association (AMB) / SBC, as well as the preceptors of outpatient clinic, ward, and diagnostic methods;

c) If your request to SBC was made before 10/03/2012 and does not offer a prerequisite in Medical Clinic accredited by the Brazilian Society of Medical Clinic (SBCM) or National Medical Residency Committee (CNRM), your institution must provide the prerequisite or only accept interns who already have it;

d) If your request to SBC is from 10/03/2012 onwards, the institution must offer a prerequisite of 02 (two) years in Medical Clinic in a program similar to Residency (2,880 hours/year) certified by SBCM or CNRM. In case of impossibility to offer it, it must be stated in your Selection Notice that only candidates who already have the prerequisite or who hold the Specialist Title in Medical Clinic issued by AMB / SBCM, or that the requesting service has an agreement with another institution that offers the referred prerequisite accredited by SBCM or CNRM.

e) That the Cardiology program lasts at least 02 (two) years, with a minimum workload of 2,880 hours/year and that it is eminently practical, faithfully complying with what the I Guideline of the Brazilian Society of Cardiology on Processes and Competencies for Cardiology Training in Brazil preaches, published in May 2011 and available electronically at: https://www.portal.cardiol.br/diretrizes;

f) That the institution provides conditions for interns to have adequate scientific development, such as a library, internet access to prestigious scientific journals in Cardiology, and that they are encouraged to produce knowledge and present it at National/Regional/State Congresses promoted by SBC and its affiliates;

g) Provide the Judging Committee for the Specialist Title in Cardiology (CJTEC) with adequate conditions for monitoring and evaluating the interns' performance during their training.
